Adventures In Adult Webmastering: The Newbie Chronicles
by Shiek of Memphis
Everyone talks about it, but few actually do it. By it, I'm
referring to making a solidified decision about going head
first into the adult webmaster market. I have actually toyed
around with the idea of a TGP or a Text Link site for a little
over 3 years now. The truth is, I'm just broke enough to do
it now. Let's be more than truthful, I have nothing to lose
and everything to gain. It's definitely time to get rich,
or file for bankruptcy.
I have it on good authority that this shit is not easy. It
is a grind and you will work before you see benefits, but
success is the fruit of perseverance. That's cool. I think
I can handle that. Now, here's the bad news. What you don't
know in this business seems to be exactly what will just either
flat out kill you, or slow you down to a crawl. So, at this
point, it's safe to say that the acquisition of knowledge
is one of your principal pursuits. It's good for most of us
that knowledge and opinions on how things are supposed to
run are rampant on the net. Everything that you read won't
work, but some of it will. It's really just up to you to be
open enough to give all the good and decent ideas a good working
over in your head.
Time for the fun stuff….
What exactly do you want to do in this business? What financial
resources do you have to work with? How committed to this
cause can you be in man power terms? These are all questions
that you'll have to ask before you can even start. Not to
mention those annoying questions about what you'll name your
site, what niche you'll cover if you decide to get knee deep
into it. These are all important things that need to be addressed.
Make no mistake this is a real business and you're about to
walk along with me as I start mine.
Name….Name….Name…what's in a name?
Tittybittyblacks.com? Nah, that's horrible. Ittybittytittyblacks.com?
Hell no, that's even worse. A name is about as important as
the general appearance of your site. If people can't easily
remember it or spell it, you'll be behind the game before
you even get a good start in it. That's just one of the things
I've learned from my webmaster days. Your name shouldn't be
so long that people have to write it down, and it shouldn't
be so complicated that they can't spell it. Truth is, most
people aren't Spelling Bee champions to begin with. So, you
must always take this into account when you search to find
a new name and identity for your business. Now, there is a
Catch 22 associated with this business.
There are virtually NO sexually related domains left. Anything
that you manage to find that is unattached will have to be
creative. Just make sure it has some sort of pop to it. I
decided to run with BBO. Bubblebootyonline.com had a certain
ring to it that caught my ears and my erection, so I stuck
on that and began to think about what all BBO might offer
the world. And yes, I know earlier I said the name should
be short, but with bubble and booty in the same name, I'm
banking that online would just fall in line with peoples sick
perverted thoughts, with any luck. It's a long shot, but it
was one of the best that I could come up with. I also registered
JIGGLETITTY.COM. Yeah I was coming up with good shit that
day. For this first week, my focus will be on BUBBLEBOOTYONLINE.COM.
I don't want to spread myself too thin. I've done that in
the past, it's definitely not a good sight.
Thumbnail Gallery Post??
So, now that I have a name I need to familiarize myself with
what I've chosen to turn this site into. I'm going to shoot
to be one of the better thumbnail gallery post sites on the
net. I'll either be the best, or split a 3 way tie for third
place. I hope to be able to generate enough traffic to bring
about a modest haul in my first month of actual business.
I am no fool. I just want to get a $50 check my first month.
If I do this, I'll dance naked in the street to an old Lionel
Ritchie track.
